Design Engineer

Position Overview

White Label is working with an engineering and manufacturing business in Bradford that requires a Design Engineer to join their team.

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed design information on a range of product types, as part of our second-line engineering process. You will form a key member of the design team and provide support to both pre‑and post‑sales functions.

• Taking ownership in developing designs to an agreed specification, including meeting deadlines, meeting design criteria and liaising with suppliers.
• Developing designs for projects from initial enquiry, producing costings and BOMs.
• Developing new product ranges as part of MP Research & Development process.
• Working as part of a multi‑discipline engineering team consisting of ventilation, building services, refrigeration, acoustic and control engineers to develop complex product solutions.
• Working on varied types of drawings from single line design concepts to intricate detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Liaising with the drawing department to produce accurate working drawings for production.
• Liaising with the drawing department to produce sales proposal drawings.
• Providing mentoring and technical support to other engineers and technicians on areas of speciality.
• Keeping drawing schedules up to date for issued and received drawings.
• Managing risk effectively, collaborating with all departments and adapting to situations.

• HVAC / Air Handling is advantageous.
• 3 years or more industry design experience.
• Must be proficient in 3D CAD. Ideally Inventor, but can consider other 3D CAD packages.

• A salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience.
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
• 1 day birthday leave on top of holiday allowance.
• 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday, with a 16:30 finish on Fridays.
