As a Mechanical Inspection Engineer, your responsibilities will include coordinating all inspections for pressure systems and ensuring compliance with COMAH Regulation. This position in West Yorkshire is available due to the need for a replacement as part of the ongoing investment program on-site. The role is Monday to Friday, and it offers an opportunity to work for a globally recognised chemical manufacturer that leads the market.
They are investing millions of pounds on-site to maintain their reputation as one of the most innovative and dynamic manufacturers worldwide. Mechanical Inspection Engineer Responsibilities:
Forecasting and scheduling inspections for pipework and bulk storage systems. Prioritising and overseeing the worklists for Mechanical Inspection Engineers (3rd Party UKAS accredited). Coordinating with Engineering Planners to ensure the planning of shutdown-specific inspections and recording of any necessary remedial actions. Updating and monitoring the Asset Integrity Lifecycle spreadsheet, which includes short- and long-term corrosion rate data. Keeping inspection frequencies aligned with Written Schemes of Examination and updating them in the CMMS (Oracle).
Reviewing and accepting all inspection reports. Ensuring the timely completion of all relevant investigations and actions related to Unusual Incident Reports (UIR). To be successful in this position as a Mechanical Inspection Engineer, you will have a strong knowledge of Industry Code Inspection Standards and procedures - API 510, 570 and 653, Non-Destructive Testing methods and a understanding of CMMS systems.
Experience and knowledge of working on a Chemical manufacturing site would also be beneficial as would the Petro-chemical, oil & gas sectors or indeed multi-industry sector experience. We will also consider graduate's looking to get into the high hazard industry, with a strong background within a relevant Engineering discipline.
