Description
This Test Engineer role will suit a mechanically minded Engineer looking to further develop their specialist hydraulic expertise, while working on a wide range of pumps, valves, motors, transmissions and other hydraulic equipment. You'll be expected to work independently and as part of the team, producing high-quality work to tight tolerances with a right-first-time attitude.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll be responsible for:
Testing hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, motors, transmissions and other ancillary equipment
Fault finding and detailed inspection work
Compiling test certificates and performance graphs
Working on units from a variety of manufacturers
Assisting with service work when required
Working alongside the Workshop and Technical Managers to achieve customer requirements
This position offers extensive training and development, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and is eager to expand their technical knowledge.
Profile
We are looking for a practical, reliable and motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
Ideally, you will have:
NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent
Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing or workshop environment
Understanding of hydraulic systems and components
Ability to read and interpret mechanical or hydraulic drawings and schematics
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office programmes
Understanding of workshop health and safety practices
A positive attitude and genuine desire to learn and develop new technical skills
Previous hydraulic testing experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as comprehensive training can be provided. Knowledge of the hydraulics industry or products is essential though.
