Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be working with a thriving and forward-thinking organisation that is seeking an Assistant Accountant to strengthen its finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for a meticulous and motivated individual to gain broad exposure across core financial processes within a collaborative and fast-moving environment.
Working closely with the Finance Director, you will be responsible for supporting a range of accounting activities, from transactional duties to month-end reporting and analysis.
Duties will include:Accounts Receivable:
Generate and issue customer invoices.
Resolve billing queries and monitor credit limits.
Ensure timely collection of payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
Process supplier invoices and reconcile accounts.
Handle payment schedules and resolve discrepancies.
Carry out daily bank and credit card reconciliations.
Assist with payroll by verifying timesheets and addressing any issues.
Manage onboarding and offboarding documentation, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
Support the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., fixed assets, accruals, prepayments).
Review overheads and investigate variances.
Participate in monthly stock counts and assist with cost analysis for board-level reporting.
Proficient in Xero accounting software.
Comfortable using Excel for basic functions and data handling.
Familiar with general office systems and workflows.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
