Assistant Accountant

Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be working with a thriving and forward-thinking organisation that is seeking an Assistant Accountant to strengthen its finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a meticulous and motivated individual to gain broad exposure across core financial processes within a collaborative and fast-moving environment.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will be responsible for supporting a range of accounting activities, from transactional duties to month-end reporting and analysis.

• Generate and issue customer invoices.

• Resolve billing queries and monitor credit limits.

• Ensure timely collection of payments and follow up on outstanding balances.

• Process supplier invoices and reconcile accounts.

• Handle payment schedules and resolve discrepancies.

• Carry out daily bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Assist with payroll by verifying timesheets and addressing any issues.

• Manage onboarding and offboarding documentation, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.

• Support the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., fixed assets, accruals, prepayments).

• Review overheads and investigate variances.

• Participate in monthly stock counts and assist with cost analysis for board-level reporting.

• Proficient in Xero accounting software.

• Comfortable using Excel for basic functions and data handling.

• Familiar with general office systems and workflows.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
