Service Charge Officer
Location:
Hybrid, Bradford – office once a month.
Salary: £27,554 per annum (potentially 5–10% below spot rate with progression).
Hours:
Permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday 9am–5pm.
We’re looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive Service Charge Officer to join our Finance team. You will support the Service Charge Accountant and wider service charge team in delivering accurate service charge budgets, forecasts and accounts.
Responsibilities- Support the preparation of service charge budgets, forecasts and year‑end accounts.
- Assist with the calculation and allocation of service charge costs in line with occupancy agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and service charge data.
- Produce customer communications and financial information with a high level of accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies and identify potential issues.
- Support key finance processes and ensure deadlines are met.
- Work closely with the Service Charge Accountant and wider Finance team to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in systems, processes and reporting.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including experience with formulas, large datasets and data manipulation.
- Strong reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, investigate discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to strict deadlines.
- Sound understanding of accounting and financial principles.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Experience using finance systems and working with financial data.
- Part‑qualified in a relevant accounting qualification (or actively working towards qualification).
- Proactive team player with excellent organisational skills and a problem‑solving mindset.

Interview processStage 1:
Teams interview with the hiring manager (planned date 30th July).
Stage 2:
Role‑related assessment and behavioural interviews, including a Customer Service Questionnaire (planned 10th August in Bradford).
