Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
Location: Hybrid from our Bradford Office
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum
Contract: Fixed term | 7 months
Are you an organised, detail-focused finance professional looking to develop your career in a supportive and collaborative environment? We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team, where you'll play a key role in providing financial support across our rented and extra care housing services.
Working closely with colleagues across Finance and Operations, you'll help ensure accurate financial reporting, support budget management and provide practical financial guidance that helps our services deliver the best outcomes for our residents.
What you'll be doing- Prepare and post accounting journals, including recharges, accruals, prepayments and other adjustments.
- Review service charge and revenue variances, providing accurate analysis and insightful commentary.
- Support the annual budgeting process and provide guidance to operational teams throughout.
- Provide first-line finance support to operational colleagues via phone, email and virtual meetings.
- Prepare balance sheet and fund account reconciliations, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Support operational managers in developing their financial knowledge through coaching and practical advice.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Finance team to identify and implement process improvements.
- AAT qualified, working towards an AAT qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in a finance role with a strong customer service focus.
- Knowledge of service charges, housing finance or similar financial processes would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- Advanced Excel and IT skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to locations across the UK.
