It is a collaborative, hands-on team that works closely with leaders and colleagues across the business, as well as external partners. We care about accuracy, practical solutions and making finance easier for others to understand and use.
The Finance Manager leads the day-to-day finance operation and turns accurate financial information into useful insight. You'll develop a small team, oversee the core accounting cycle and make sure our controls, systems and reporting remain dependable as the business grows across the UK and Europe.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be close enough to the detail to spot issues early, while giving senior leaders the analysis, forecasts and context they need to make confident decisions. You'll also help us get more from Xero and continually improve how the team works.
- Monthly management accounts are accurate, insightful and delivered to agreed deadlines.
- The general ledger, balance sheet and supporting reconciliations are complete, controlled and audit-ready.
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT and payroll coordination run smoothly and issues are resolved promptly.
- Finance colleagues receive clear direction, useful coaching and opportunities to build their capability.
- Leaders receive practical analysis and forecasts that help them understand performance and make decisions.
- Finance systems and processes become simpler, more efficient and less reliant on manual work.
- Lead, support and develop a small Finance team across accounts payable, accounts receivable and reporting.
- Set clear priorities, review work and create a supportive environment where people can build confidence and capability.
- Keep work organised across reporting cycles, operational deadlines and changing business priorities.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet reporting and variance analysis.
- Maintain oversight of the general ledger, balance-sheet reconciliations and the quality of supporting records.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, stepping into the detail when the team needs support.
- Maintain strong, proportionate financial controls and make sure agreed processes are followed consistently.
- Coordinate year-end activity and work closely with external auditors to provide clear, complete information.
- Ensure VAT returns and other UK finance requirements are accurate and submitted on time.
- Coordinate with our outsourced payroll provider so payroll information is complete, accurate and delivered to schedule.
- Build effective relationships with auditors, payroll providers and other finance partners, following queries through to resolution.
- Provide senior leaders and non-finance colleagues with clear financial analysis, forecasts and commercial insight.
- Explain financial performance in plain language, highlighting risks, opportunities and actions.
- Improve how we use Xero, helping the team embed consistent ways of working and make confident use of the system.
- Identify and deliver process improvements that reduce manual effort, strengthen controls and make information easier to access.
- Support the financial needs of a growing international business, adapting processes as our scale and complexity change.
- At least three years' experience producing management accounts, including profit and loss and balance-sheet reporting.
