Qualified Forensic/Clinical/Counselling Psychologist – Part time
Join Cygnet as a part‑time Qualified Psychologist. Cygnet has been delivering specialist mental health services across over 150 sites in the UK for more than 30 years, and we are looking for an experienced professional to support our team in delivering high quality care.
As a 22.5‑hour per week (3 days) role based at Cygnet Hospital, Bierley, you will offer specialised assessments and therapeutic interventions for people with complex mental health needs, working within a multidisciplinary team.
The RoleWe need a compassionate and enthusiastic Psychologist who can:
- Support the team with high standards of clinical care
- Deliver psychological assessments and interventions, such as schema therapy, DBT or EMDR
- Provide training, supervision and consultation to colleagues
- Contribute to service evaluation and clinical research
- A HCPC registered Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist with experience in a clinical forensic or mental health setting
- Trained in delivering psychological therapies
- Preferably experienced in completing functioning, well‑being and risk assessments
- Passionate about working with complex mental health needs and applying a trauma‑informed approach
- Capable of treating self‑harm, aggression, sexual offending and substance misuse
- Work 22.5 hours per week; days to be agreed with the successful candidate
- Competitive salary: up to £31,832 DOE
- Work as a team Psychologist within an MDT
- Carry out psychological assessments and provide therapy to individuals and groups
- Collaboratively develop care plans with the MDT
- Provide training, supervision and consultation to colleagues
- Evaluate the service, contribute to its development and carry out clinical research
