Join Our Person-Centred Support Team in Leeds
Empowering individuals to live life their way. Are you a caring, compassionate person looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real difference every day? At Active Care in the Home, we're proud to be one of the UK's leading providers of complex care and right now, we're looking for an attentive Female Support Worker to join our client's support team.
MeetOur Client
We are supporting a lovely lady with cerebral palsy who lives at home with her husband. She has a small, established care team, and her husband provides overnight support while also working part-time. We're looking for an additional team member to join them, helping to deliver consistent, high-quality care and giving her husband some well-deserved respite. Communication is an important part of her support.
She relies mainly on non‑verbal cues, so this role would suit someone patient, attentive, and naturally compassionate who will take the time to build trust and really get to know her. You'll be working alongside two long‑standing carers who know her well and provide excellent continuity. She enjoys getting out and about each day for a coffee, a browse around the shops, or simply some relaxed people‑watching, so being a confident driver is essential.
She also appreciates support with the day‑to‑day running of her home. She's easy‑going, enjoys a good laugh, and loves spending time with her two cats in her garden catio, which is one of her favourite places to unwind.
As a one‑to‑one Support Worker role, you'll play a key role in providing high‑quality, person‑centred care in our client's own home. You'll help to ensure care is consistent, safe, and tailored to the client's needs and preferences. Every day is different, from supporting with personal care, light household chores to driving our client on trips out in the community.
Working HoursPart‑time starting at 16 hours per week, with a mix of shifts:
- Monday - Friday: 9am – 4pm, 4pm – 10pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 11am – 7pm
Rolling rota will be in place. Flexibility is key to supporting the client's lifestyle.
What We’re Looking For- A compassionate, reliable, and proactive individual
- Confident driver (essential, you'll be driving the client's vehicle)
- Great communication
- Passion for empowering others to live independently
- From £12.25 up to £13.50 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Flexible zero‑hour contract
- Ongoing professional development support
- Active Awards Programme recognising and celebrating your success
- Refer‑a‑Friend Bonus earn up to £1,500!
- A supportive, friendly environment where you're genuinely valued
At Active Care in the Home, we believe care should be as individual as the person receiving it. You'll be part of a close‑knit team that truly makes a difference helping our client live life to the fullest, every single day. Whether you're already experienced or just starting your journey in care, we'll support you every step of the way. We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and celebrate diversity in all its forms.
