Overview
Job Summary Applications are invited for a full time HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with experience in both Haematology and Blood transfusion. Candidates must possess an IBMS approved Biomedical Science degree. Candidates should be enthusiastic, well-motivated and innovative, with good organisational and practical abilities and a solid scientific knowledge. Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to support individual and team working are essential in line with the Trust's Right Care Behaviours.
The successful candidate will work primarily on the Bradford site with a rotational requirement between both hospital sites when needed. The department is well equipped, including Sysmex XN 3000 system, ACL TOP 550's, and Alifax Test1 analysers. The Blood Transfusion department is fully automated, supported by two Ortho Vision platforms and electronic blood product issue via Blood Track. The department operates a 24/7 service utilising a 37.5 hour shift system and you will be required to participate following appropriate training.
We offer opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD) and further study. The laboratory holds full UKAS accreditation (ISO 15189:2022) and is an IBMS-approved training site.
