Position: Specialist Midwife (Safer Maternity Care) - 9 months - 18.75 hpw

Overview

An opportunity to contribute as an interim Specialist Midwife. You will provide joint collaborative leadership and assurance. Together you will play a pivotal role in delivering education and training to increase the knowledge of our staff on the domains of this programme.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Team, share learning and develop action plans, triangulating themes and identifying areas of improvement.
  • Jointly responsible for delivering programmes of education and training, perform audits and devise Quality Improvement initiatives, presenting findings through written reports and engaging presentations to drive meaningful improvements.
  • Be a proactive senior Midwife who can demonstrate a high level of specialised independent working. You will be organised, examine and interpret data, present findings locally and regionally.
  • Support flexible working to enable the specialist service to meet the requirements as described and to meet the needs of the whole service.
  • The Specialist Midwife for Safer Maternity Care will jointly coordinate the implementation of key domains within the Saving Babies  Lives Care Bundle (SBLCBV3) and any subsequent National Maternity safety drivers which may supersede or complement improvements in maternal and newborn health.
  • The key objective is to triangulate data and deliver a programme of improvement to support the care bundle.
  • Act as a joint leader linking with Consultants, department managers and workforce to ensure Quality and safety improvements are agreed and implemented.
  • Collaborate with other Specialist roles who contribute to Quality & Safety; work with internal and external partners, communicating with agencies and user representatives.
  • Represent the post on external forums, collating information in the required format and uploading data into the NHS Futures platform, ensuring data can be easily accessed by key stakeholders.
