About

The Role

HAYS is currently seeking a Temporary Payroll Analyst to join their client s Payroll Department for a period of three months. This role offers an excellent opportunity for payroll professionals or individuals with strong analytical, compliance, or data handling skills to contribute to a busy and well-established organization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency through meticulous data review and transactional processing.

The position is designed to support the payroll team in managing complex pay queries, statutory deductions, and timely submission of statutory returns. The role provides a flexible working pattern, with two days per week in the Bradford office and the remaining days working remotely, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess relevant experience in payroll, finance, compliance, or data analysis. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail are essential for success in this role. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills to handle sensitive queries professionally and confidently. Experience with payroll transactional processing, statutory deductions, and statutory returns is highly desirable. Additionally, proficiency in data management and analytical tools will be advantageous.

A proactive approach, ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to accuracy are key attributes for prospective applicants.

Responsibilities
  • Review payroll data and transactions meticulously to identify errors, anomalies, and inconsistencies, ensuring data integrity.
  • Resolve complex pay queries, enquiries, issues, and complaints efficiently, escalating issues when necessary to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Complete payroll transactional processing with precision and within designated time frames to maintain payroll accuracy.
  • Support the management of payroll credit transfers and emergency CHAPS payments, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Ensure that statutory deductions are correctly applied, calculated, and accurately reflected in payroll records.
  • Produce and dispatch statutory returns, including those related to taxable benefits, within prescribed deadlines to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
