About the Role

The Learning & Development Lead will support employees across the UK and EU in building skills and developing their careers orting to the Human Resources Director, the role will lead training, onboarding, core skills, and leadership development, partnering with HR and business leaders to deliver practical, relevant learning aligned with business goals.

Skills & Experience
  • Experience developing and delivering L&D strategies aligned to business priorities, capability gaps and organisational objectives.
  • Strong ability to design, curate and implement learning solutions across onboarding, management, leadership and career development.
  • Confident facilitator with experience delivering learning programmes, particularly for managers and senior leaders.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing L&D team members, with a focus on performance, capability and engagement.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing and partnering skills, working effectively with HRBPs, senior leaders, employees and external providers.
  • Experience developing career pathways, succession-related development and initiatives that support internal mobility and progression.
  • Skilled in selecting and managing training providers, facilitators, apprenticeship partners and professional/awarding bodies.
  • Working knowledge of UK/EU apprenticeship levy schemes and experience maximising available funding.
  • Experience managing LMS content, reporting, attendance/completion data and learner feedback to evaluate programme effectiveness.
  • Able to prioritise learning investment, manage L&D budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Comfortable using data, feedback and business insight to assess and continually improve learning interventions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the annual L&D strategy and plan, ensuring alignment with business strategy and organisational capability requirements.
  • Identify learning and development needs in partnership with HR Business Partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Design and curate learning programmes covering onboarding, management, leadership and career development.
  • Personally facilitate key learning interventions, particularly manager and leadership development programmes.
  • Lead, coach and develop the L&D Officer, setting priorities and ensuring effective delivery.
  • Manage relationships with external training providers, apprenticeship partners and professional bodies.
  • Own the organisation's approach to career development, succession and development pathways.
  • Manage the LMS, including content, reporting, attendance, completion and learner data.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end administration and logistics of learning programmes.
  • Manage the L&D budget and apprenticeship levy utilisation across relevant UK/EU schemes.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness through participation, completion, feedback and business outcomes, using insights to refine the L&D plan.
  • Provide leadership within L&D by setting direction, allocating resources, managing priorities and developing team capability.
  • Promote organisational culture and values while supporting talent attraction, onboarding, retention and internal progression.
  • Ensure learning delivery complies with relevant workplace health, safety and organisational policies.
