Data Modeller

Shape the data foundations powering the next chapter of Vanquis

Our data landscape is evolving at pace, and our growing Data Architecture team is creating the models and standards that will support trusted insight, reporting and operational decision-making across Vanquis.

THE NEXT CHAPTER STARTS WITH YOU

As a Data Modeller, you'll translate complex business needs into clear, scalable data models. You'll work hands-on across a wide range of projects, helping develop our Data Vault approach, shape how data modelling is done and set standards that will influence what comes next.

This is a growth role within a team that currently includes two permanent colleagues. You'll have the autonomy to roll up your sleeves, solve problems and make a visible contribution from the outset.

There’s More to the Story

Vanquis is evolving. We're investing in our people, modernising how we work, strengthening customer experiences and building new capabilities across the business.

This opportunity sits within Technology & Change, where you'll contribute to a growing Data Architecture capability while developing your expertise across varied projects, technologies and stakeholder groups.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Own and improve data modelling standards and patterns, supporting consistent, high-quality delivery.
  • Develop and advocate Data Vault methodology across data warehouse and data product designs.
  • Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models that engineers can build from.
  • Model Salesforce and wider operational data, including flows, transformations and mappings.
  • Collaborate across Architecture, Analysis, Engineering, Governance and Security to resolve complex design decisions.
  • Help shape a growing data modelling capability and establish standards others can follow.
  • Help shape the future of Vanquis.
Why this role matters

Reliable data models underpin insight, reporting and operational processes across Vanquis. Your work will help create clearer data structures, improve data quality and support consistent, secure and well-governed use of data.

You'll join during a period of high-speed change, with exposure to varied projects and stakeholders. Because the team is growing, you'll have genuine scope to influence its direction and help mature how data modelling is delivered.

  • Tools and languages - SQL and modelling tools such as SQLDBM or Erwin, with Python useful.
  • Design focus
    - Data warehouse architecture, database design, data flows, transformations and mappings.
Essential experience
  • Strong experience creating and implementing data models, patterns and standards in a complex organisation.
  • Hands-on Data Vault and Salesforce data model experience. Alternatively, substantial data warehouse and database design experience.
