Field Services Engineer - Bradford
We are looking for a knowledgeable and customer‑focused Wi‑Fi Engineer to join our team will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Wi‑Fi networks for residential customers. The role requires checking every device from the dishwasher to the Xbox, focusing on dBm levels rather than bar counts, and striving to leave every job with a 5‑star Trustpilot review.
The company is a fast‑growing, full‑fibre provider with a 4.7 Trustpilot score, and the hours will be worked Tuesday to Saturday.
- Installation and Setup:
Install and configure Wi‑Fi networks, including routers, extenders and other related equipment. - Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve issues related to Wi‑Fi connectivity and performance. - Network Optimisation:
Optimise Wi‑Fi networks for performance, including channel selection, signal strength adjustments, and interference management. - Customer Support:
Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and explaining technical information in an understandable manner. - Site Surveys:
Conduct on‑site surveys to assess signal coverage, identify potential interference sources, and recommend appropriate solutions. - Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and firmware updates on Wi‑Fi equipment to ensure optimal performance and security. - Product Delivery:
Install/upsell our packages including the 8GB service with the latest ASUS gaming routers. - Run Cat 6 Ethernet cable for relocating routers or to hardwire a customer’s specific device.
- Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of Wi‑Fi technology, including standards (e.g., 802.11ac, 802.11ax), encryption methods, and networking principles. - Experience:
Previous experience as a Wi‑Fi technician or in a similar role, with hands‑on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting experience. - Customer Service
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical customers. - Problem‑Solving Abilities:
Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues effectively. - Education:
Technical certifications or training in networking or telecommunications are preferred. - Ethernet Cables:
Know the colour code of an ethernet cable and be able to make one on request at customer properties.
