Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of a leading international logistics and transport provider for a Transport Planner to join their team based in Bradford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day transport function, ensuring schedules are effectively managed and all transport documentation is completed accurately. The operation follows a traditional planning process, with a strong emphasis on administration and paperwork rather than automated transport management systems. This role is therefore well suited to an individual who is highly organised, methodical and comfortable working in a documentation‑focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with drivers, customers and internal departments to ensure the smooth delivery of transport services.
  • Prepare, process and maintain accurate transport documentation.
  • Manage proof of delivery paperwork and transport records.
  • Monitor vehicle movements and communicate updates where required.
  • Respond to operational changes and support the resolution of transport‑related issues.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider transport team.
  • Ensure all transport activities are completed in accordance with company procedures and compliance requirements.
Essential Criteria
  • Previous experience within a Transport Planner or Coordinator role
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build professional working relationships.
  • The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A willingness to work within a traditional, paperwork‑led transport operation.
