Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are seeking to recruit a Reception Engineer to work in the Council’s Fleet Workshop Reception From April 2026.We are looking for a competent individual who can adopt a flexible approach to work in order that priorities and service deadlines may be met .The priority for the Reception Engineer is to undertake all associated reception duties in a customer focused manner to ensure an efficient and cost-effective service is provided, identifying and introducing business improvements.
They will also deputise for the Team Leader in all aspects of their duties in their absence.
At minimum, it is essential that all applicants possess the following:
- Are an apprentice trained motor vehicle mechanic to City & Guilds 380/383 level 2, or NVQ Level 3 or alternatively have undergone other training to a similar standard.
- Hold a current driving licence (LGV class C or C&E would be beneficial but is not an essential requirement).
- Experience in a working in a motor vehicle, maintenance and repair or similar operational environment.

Please note, this position operates in line with a rolling 2 week rota:
Week
1) Monday - Thursday: 06:00- 14:15 pm | Friday: 06:00
-13:30 pm
Week 2 ) Monday - Thursday: 14:00 – 22:15 pm | Friday: 13:00 - 20:30 pm
