Reception Supervisor

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Reception Supervisor to lead our reception team and support the smooth day-to-day running of our busy, patient-focused GP practice. This is a hands-on supervisory role, with the successful candidate spending part of their time working alongside the reception team while also providing day-to-day leadership and support . The post is for 30 hours per week.

Working closely with the Practice Management Team, you will help maintain high standards of service, promote effective teamwork, and ensure the efficient delivery of front-line services.

• Supervise and support the reception team, ensuring a professional, friendly, and efficient service is provided at all times.
• Lead, motivate, and develop reception staff through training, coaching, and performance management.
• Assist with recruitment, induction, and ongoing staff development.
• Manage reception workflows, rotas, and day-to-day operational issues.
• Monitor and maintain high standards of patient service and customer care.
• Support the implementation of practice policies, procedures, and service improvements.
• Deal with patient enquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Ensure reception processes are carried out accurately and efficiently, including appointment management, patient registrations, and clinical correspondence workflows.
• Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nursing staff, administration teams, and external healthcare partners.
• Support the Practice Management Team with operational projects and organisational objectives.
• Promote a positive, supportive, and inclusive team culture.
