Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment in Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Multiskilled Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical experience who thrives in a production environment.
As a Multiskilled Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production machinery to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment across production lines.
* Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to reduce downtime.
* Work with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems including motors, conveyors, mixers, and ovens.
* Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
* Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment servicing.
* Ensure all engineering work complies with health, safety, and food safety regulations.
* Work closely with production teams to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and report recurring issues.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Multiskilled Engineer role within manufacturing or food production.
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability.
* Experience working with PLCs and production machinery.
* Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
* Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
Desirable
* HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Experience working with food safety standards such as HACCP or BRC.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or TPM.
Personal Attributes
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
