Trustees help us identify opportunities, manage challenges, and ensure we remain responsive to the needs of older people and local communities.
Ultimately, your expertise will help us maximise our impact, reach more people who need support, and continue delivering services that improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness, and enable older people to live independently for longer.
What are we looking for?We are seeking individuals who can bring professional expertise, strategic insight, and a commitment to supporting older people across Bradford District. Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential. We are interested in people who can contribute positively to board discussions, provide constructive challenge, and help guide the future direction of the charity.

What will you be doing?As a Trustee, you will work collaboratively with fellow Board members and the senior leadership team to ensure Age UK Bradford District remains well governed, financially sustainable, and focused on delivering positive outcomes for older people.
Key responsibilities include- Contributing to the development and oversight of the charity's strategic direction
- Ensuring effective governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Supporting sound financial stewardship and risk management
- Monitoring organisational performance and impact
Providing constructive challenge, advice, and professional insight - Acting as an ambassador for the charity within your networks and the wider community
- Attending Board meetings and contributing to key discussions and decisions
Trustees are expected to act in the best interests of the charity and uphold its values at all times.
