We’re recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator for our Rehoming & Fostering Team in Hertfordshire!
As Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll recruit, support, and inspire volunteers to enhance rehoming and fostering services, while promoting Blue Cross in the community and driving local volunteering initiatives. You’ll be joining a team that strives to be the best versions of themselves, so that they can do the best for the pets who need our help. You’ll recruit and support a diverse team of volunteers, work closely with the Centre Manager and Assistant Managers, and ensure volunteers are integrated into the team.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will need to be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to promote Blue Cross and the benefits of volunteering to a range of external stakeholders. You will be a self‑motivated, creative, and forward‑thinking individual who enjoys participating in local volunteering events and national initiatives. You must work collaboratively at all levels, ensuring volunteers have the right opportunities to thrive, and be able to provide guidance and pragmatic solutions to volunteer situations.
You will demonstrate resilience in an emotionally charged environment and exhibit empathy and emotional intelligence.
Effective organisation, flexibility, and analytical skills are essential, as is a confident, approachable and supportive manner.
