Litter Picker

We are seeking a dedicated and environmentally conscious individual to join our team as a Litter Picker. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in public areas to promote a safe and welcoming environment for the community. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and possess good communication skills to interact with the public effectively.

Working Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7am-10am; required to cover other staff members’ holiday or sickness.

Rate of pay is £12.21 per hour.

This position is to help keep Gallagher Retail Park clean from litter and debris.

• Collect litter and waste from designated areas using appropriate tools and safety equipment
• Dispose of collected rubbish in authorised waste disposal sites
• Report any hazardous conditions or maintenance issues encountered during patrols
• Assist with organising community clean-up events when required
• Engage politely with members of the public, providing information or assistance as needed
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations

• Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate mobility across various locations
• Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
• Previous experience in customer service or public-facing roles is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills to interact courteously with the public and team members
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift light to moderate loads
• Organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions accurately
