Water Quality Sampling Coordinator

Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week at our laboratory office in Ossett or other sites across the region as required.

Work type: Permanent, 4 days on/4 days off, avg. 37 hours per week.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Water Quality Sampling Coordinator to join the Water Quality Compliance team
, helping Yorkshire Water provide the best service to our customers.

Where you will fit in:

As our Water Quality Sampling Coordinator
, you will work in a small team of four on a 4‑on, 4‑off rota and:

  • Deliver coordinated output of the regional water quality sampling teams.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with the regulatory sampling programme through proactive and reactive resource management.
  • Make sound decisions to maximise efficiency.
  • Serve as a key water quality sampling contact for the sampling teams and wider business.
  • Support the day‑to‑day health & safety of the sampling team.
  • Drive sustainable out performance against industry benchmarks.
  • Apply in‑depth knowledge of all water quality procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with WQ sampling procedures, QMS and ISO
    17025, reporting any issues affecting public health.
  • Manage fleet, record‑keeping and planning, and respond to reactive fleet issues.
  • Allocate weekly workload based on demand, moving jobs proactively.
  • Build and maintain strong networks with stakeholders in Ops Science, Public Health, Distribution, Production, Security and more.
  • Deputise for the Water Quality Sampling Team Leaders in their absence.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Valid, clean driving license.

You will also benefit from having:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of water quality sampling regulations and processes.
  • Good working knowledge of YW corporate systems.
  • Experience delivering against challenging business targets.
  • Experience in a regulated environment, preferably within water, wastewater or utilities.
  • Ability to participate in leading team meetings, delivering updates and training where required.
  • Experience in a scheduling or sampling environment.
