Quality Inspector / Quality Manager – Precision Machining

Hours:

Monday–Thursday 7:00am–4:00pm, Friday 7:00am–2:30pm

ABS Talent is recruiting a Quality Inspector / Quality Manager on behalf of a well-established precision machining client. This is a great opportunity for an experienced quality professional to join a precision machine shop, ensuring machined components meet customer specifications, engineering drawings and industry standards.

The opportunity

You’ll play a key role in supporting continuous quality improvement — identifying defects, documenting findings, and working closely with machinists and engineers to resolve issues.

The role
  • Perform first article, in-process and final inspections on precision machined components
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers/calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, surface plates and CMM (as applicable)
  • Document inspection results clearly using company documentation
  • Identify and communicate non-conforming product and support root cause analysis
  • Work with machinists and production staff to correct dimensional issues and feed back on quality trends
  • Assist in maintaining the calibration and cleanliness of inspection equipment
About you
  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision machining / engineering environment
  • Confident interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Skilled with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, surface plates, etc.)
  • CMM experience an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical, quality-focused approach
  • Good communicator, able to work closely with machinists and engineers
