Location: Bradford
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm
Salary: Competitive (discussed during application)
Recruiter: Grafton Recruitment, representing a major United Kingdom industrial group.
You will be joining a well established division within a 600mil national steel group, known for its strong reputation, professional standards and long term stability. This division supplies products into a variety of architectural and industrial applications, including glass, facade and structural environments.
Role OverviewThis position is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional who already has a strong understanding of business to business sales, account management and business development, and who is ready to progress within a more technical and commercially focused environment.
You do not need prior product expertise. Full technical training on materials, systems and applications will be provided. However, you must be confident managing customer relationships, supporting existing accounts and creating new commercial opportunities.
This is a role with genuine long term development prospects within a respected and well supported group.
Key Responsibilities- Managing incoming enquiries, quotations and orders from existing accounts.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities through calls, emails and follow up activity.
- Building strong and lasting customer relationships based on trust and understanding.
- Supporting customers across architectural and glass related sectors where accuracy is essential.
- Working to agreed sales targets with guidance from the Sales Manager.
- Maintaining accurate customer information within the CRM system.
- Following up quotations and progressing opportunities through to order stage.
- Maximising value on all customer interactions through effective upselling.
- Maintaining regular contact with both new and existing customers.
- Escalating customer service issues internally to support continuous improvement.
- Providing occasional support to external sales activity when required.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- A solid grounding in business to business sales, including:
- Account management
- Business development
- Managing commercial customer conversations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A proactive, organised and commercially aware approach.
- Good IT skills and confidence working with CRM systems.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Genuine interest in expanding industry and product knowledge.
- Experience in glass architecture, glazing, facade systems or related building materials.
- Knowledge or experience within construction, manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Any familiarity with steel or architectural components (training provided).
- Show curiosity about the industry and how products are used.
- Take ownership of results and work actively to achieve targets.
- Maintain high standards and seek continual improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across sales, operations, purchasing and logistics.
- Be open to new ideas and able to adapt positively to change.
