The Opportunity

We are seeking a professional with strong building design capability, confident sales experience, and a solid understanding of construction to join our team as a Part‑Time Freelance Design & Sales Consultant
. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, shaping bespoke building designs, and guiding projects from initial enquiry through to order. For the right person, this role offers excellent earnings potential and the chance to work with a respected local brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop incoming sales enquiries, progressing them through a structured sales pipeline to secure orders.
  • Attend pre‑booked appointments at clients’ homes to discuss requirements, advise on design options, assess optimal building placement, and outline relevant planning considerations.
  • Produce clear, accurate building design sketches that reflect the client’s brief and site conditions.
  • Prepare detailed costings and quotations based on the agreed design.
  • Follow up quotations, respond to client queries, and maintain ongoing communication throughout the decision‑making process.
  • Assist in preparing planning application documentation for submission via our planning consultants.
Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of construction methods, ideally with experience in timber or oak‑framed buildings.
  • Proven sales experience, particularly with high‑end clients where relationship building, trust and empathy are essential.
  • Ability to create building designs and interpret client requirements effectively.
  • Understanding of local authority planning procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, costing software and CRM systems.
  • Comfortable working within a small, collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with Surrey, East Hampshire and West Sussex is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for traditional timber buildings and craftsmanship.
