Overview
Horton Housing is recruiting Housing Support Workers for a new scheme based in central Bradford. This role is offered on a full‑time permanent contract with an annual salary of £27,588.00. Successful candidates will receive 6 weeks holiday (plus bank holidays) and access to the Employee Assistance Programme. Working hours are flexible across Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday cover, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Responsibilities- Support a caseload of clients to maintain their tenancy and achieve successful outcomes.
- Assist individuals with practical and emotional aspects of maintaining their accommodation.
- Ensure immediate client needs are met, including access to welfare benefits, food, clothing and health care.
- Provide support based on the client’s needs, risk assessment and support plan.
- Experience working with people experiencing homelessness or social disadvantage.
- Strong partnership working, liaising with housing providers, support services, statutory and non-statutory agencies.
- Experience with housing management duties such as health and safety, repairs and maintenance, property checks and tenancy agreements.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues facing people experiencing homelessness, including mental health, offending behaviours and drug/alcohol challenges.
- Evidence of vocational training and/or professional development in relevant skills (e.g., housing, mental health, welfare benefits).
- Valid driving licence and vehicle use for business purposes is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
