Bradford Children and Families Trust is seeking experienced and committed Social Workers to join the South Locality Duty and Assessment Teams. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a service that is focused on delivering high-quality, child-centred interventions while supporting practitioners to develop and thrive in their careers.
We are looking for social workers who can work confidently in a fast-paced environment, make sound professional decisions and build meaningful relationships with children and families through restorative and relational practice.
About the Role
As a Duty and Assessment Social Worker you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding children and promoting positive outcomes from the very first point of contact.
You will undertake timely assessments, respond to safeguarding concerns and work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to identify risks, strengths and appropriate interventions.
Working within a supportive and experienced team you will manage a varied caseload involving:
Child Protection enquiries and investigations
Child in Need assessments and planning
Public Law Outline (PLO) and Pre-Proceedings work
Court work and Public Care Proceedings
Emergency safeguarding interventions
Multi-agency decision-making and partnership working
Direct work with children, young people, and families
Permanence planning from the earliest stage of involvement
You will be expected to work proactively and efficiently, ensuring that children receive the right support at the right time while maintaining high professional standards and robust safeguarding practice.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking experienced practitioners who:
Hold a recognised Social Work qualification
Are registered with Social Work England
Have post-qualification experience within Children's Services
Have experience working within Duty and Assessment, Safeguarding, Child Protection or Front Door services
Possess strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills
Have experience of Public Proceedings, Pre-Proceedings, Child Protection and Child in Need processes
Can manage complex cases and competing priorities effectively
Are committed to restorative and relational approaches to social work
Demonstrate excellent communication and partnership-working skills
Remain focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and families
