What you will be doing:

  • To provide coordination to Sustainability activity to support the University to implement the Sustainability Policy and Strategy.
  • Support engagement activities that promote sustainable behaviours across the University community, including events, communications and awareness‑raising initiatives.
  • To support the delivery of multiple Sustainability projects, ensuring appropriate reporting mechanisms relating to progress and outcomes against Sustainability plans, aims and objectives.
  • To provide continual gap analysis and recommendations to senior management in relation to Sustainability performance metrics.
  • To coordinate and deliver a robust Sustainability calendar of events and campaigns in collaboration with the Sustainability Society to raise awareness, such as Sustainability Week and biodiversity activities, including delivering standard briefings and awareness sessions for staff and students to ensure understanding and engagement with Sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide high‑quality administrative and operational support across the Governance and Compliance function, ensuring efficient and compliant processes.

Qualifications/ experience:

  • Level 3 Qualification e.g. A
    - Level, or equivalent level of experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sustainability principles and practices
  • Ability to organise workload and prioritise appropriately to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Experience communicating and initiating behaviour change schemes to different audiences.
  • Knowledge of Sustainability issues within complex organisations such as Higher Education.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff from a broad range of disciplines both academic and professional services.
  • Experience of gathering, analysing and summarising information from a variety of sources to inform decision-making.
  • 25 days holiday and 13 statutory and customary days (taken at Easter and Christmas).
