Timber Yard Operative

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Job Description:

Working Hours:

* Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (may extend to 4:30 PM or 5:00 PM depending on workload)

* Saturdays: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (expected to work 3 out of 4 Saturdays, depending on staff availability and holidays)

Key Responsibilities:

* Load and unload timber products using forklifts or manually.

* Organize and maintain a tidy and safe yard environment.

* Assist customers with order collection and provide excellent service.

* Cut and prepare timber to customer specifications as required.

* Conduct stock checks and report shortages or damages.

* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

* Assist with deliveries and distribution of timber products.

* Carry out general maintenance and housekeeping duties within the yard.

Requirements:

* Previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential).

* Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) License.

* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

* Good physical fitness, as heavy lifting is involved.

* Strong teamwork and communication skills.

* A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

* Basic knowledge of timber products (desirable but not essential).
