Customs Assistant

Main Purpose of the roleDSV are recruiting for the role of Assistant within our Border Management Service in Bradford to oversee all International Import, Export & UK Domestic Inbound & Outbound transport movements for our Depot.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all import and export shipments arriving from or destined for the EU are processed in line with customs requirements. You will prepare and manage the necessary documentation to facilitate customs clearance and coordinate onward transportation of shipments.
We are looking for a person who can add extra quality to our already highly focused and efficient team. All training is given.

What will you be doing?- Checking documentation of import arrivals, createdocumentationfor export trailer leaving the UK.They will ensure all HMRC documents are prepared correctly and that the depots receive clear instruction on cargo when it is released.
- Communicate effectively with internal colleagues and customers around documentation.
This will involve the use of IT to interface with HMRC systems and monitor the clearance status of shipments. - Maintaining records of clearance, being organised and accurate with all systems are essential requirements.
- Ensure legislative compliance in all areas.
- Ensure that the company operates within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment.
- Highly organised and are highly detail-oriented.
- Good communication skills with colleagues and external customers.
- Preferably some knowledge of Customs processes or systems.
- Have ability to work under pressure.
