Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Responsible for keeping equipment and plant electrical components operating for production.
Must maintain and troubleshoot all building, production, and utilitiesequipment facility wide to prevent and/or accurate electrical and minormechanical breakdowns.
Minimum qualifications:
- Constant bending andtwisting;
Able to reach above shoulders. - Able to climb, stoop, kneel,and crouch occasionally.
- Able to become certified tooperate a hand truck.
- Able to become certified inman-lifts.
- Able to work any shift and overtime when needed.
- Able to work in hot/humid conditions as well as areas that may contain starch/dust particles andegg.
- Use simple mathematics on aperiodic basis.
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley
PLC’s and components. - Knowledge of 240/480
Vsystems. - Ability to troubleshootladder logic and make edits as required.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Effective troubleshooting skills on all electrical systems.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair all electrical/electronic equipment and control equipment associated with the building, production, and utilities.
- Communicate and coordinate with Operations and Maintenance Team Leads any corrective maintenancerequired on assigned equipment to ensure optimum line efficiency and product quality.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections on all production, building, and utilitiesequipment as assigned by the Operations or Maintenance Team Lead.
- Participate in the development of a documented preventive maintenance plan.
- Must be able to work as amember of a team on jobs requiring skills other than electrical.
- Recommend and implementcontinuous improvement on equipment and system design through use of theteam concept.
- Troubleshoot and modifyprograms on existing programmable controllers and write new programs for existing and new programmable computers.
- Analyze equipment failures;
Recommend and implement corrective action. - Communicate with area maintenance personnel on other shifts, as necessary, to ensure coordination of all maintenance efforts on assigned equipment.
- Perform an emergency stop as necessary;
Follow all “Lock Out/Tag Out” procedures and policies. - Report all safety concerns and potential hazards to a supervisor/team lead.
- Perform any duties assigned by Supervisor/Team Lead.
The employee must have general operation knowledge of all equipment in the facility. The employee must have the ability to operate such equipment that includes, but is not limited to volt meters, amp meters, computer, conduitbender, assorted hand tools, etc.
Training and experience:
Associates/bachelor’sdegree pertaining to Electrical Maintenance Field, Certified Journeyman Electrician, or 3 years of equivalent industrial experience required. Also,employee must be able to pass appropriate testing and Targeted Selection Interview process prior to being offered the position.
