CLA is looking to hire an Office Leader/CFO with deep private‑industry experience for our growing Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) team in the North/Central Minnesota area. Office locations include Monticello, St. Cloud, Alexandria, or Brainerd, MN. This full‑time, permanent position drives business development, builds relationships, and helps the practice grow through talent infrastructure.
Office Leader Responsibilities- Work with local Client Relationship Leaders to cascade CAAS messaging and initiatives.
- Partner with local leaders on CAAS go‑to‑market strategies and respond to market opportunities.
- Serve as the main point of contact to the Managing Principal Office regarding service‑level questions.
- Engage with the local CAAS team to support CLA’s Better Together culture.
- Partner with Industry Team Leaders to drive impeccable client service.
- Perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team.
- Identify and implement best practices that add value to the client.
- Work with the client to set financial policy and actively participate in overall strategy.
- Drive capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions.
- Lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
- Oversee long‑term budget planning and cost management.
- Monitor budget progress and present operational metrics.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Deep industry specialization in Construction, Manufacturing, or Retail.
- Knowledge of accounting software; working knowledge of Quick Books, Intacct, and preferred.
- Proven record of building and managing teams through growth and use of professional network for business development.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field required (equivalent experience may be accepted).
- CPA not required but highly preferred.
- Travel: primarily in‑office; frequent local travel to client sites and occasional non‑local or overnight travel for visits, meetings, or training as needed.
