This casual position provides occupational therapy services to patients of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes evaluation, treatment planning, patient and caregiver education, discharge planning, and documentation. The therapist works as part of a care team under the direction of Essentia Health management and the referring physician. Weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday) is required approximately once every 6–8 weeks, with shifts ranging from a half‑day to a full day.

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

• Conduct therapy evaluations, treatment planning, patient/caregiver education, and discharge planning for a full caseload
• Treat patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Work with patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, across neuro‑rehab, orthopaedic rehab, wheelchair assessments, and cognition evaluations
• Collaborate closely with OTs, PTs, and other team members in the inpatient setting and with OTs in the outpatient setting
• Handle all ancillary and administrative requirements, including documentation, billing, scheduling, and other duties
• Supervise support staff (licensed assistants, aides, volunteers) and demonstrate appropriate communication and professionalism
• Comply with the organization’s code of conduct and professional organization core values, code of ethics, and scope of practice
• Provide staff education, participate in or lead committee groups, and assist with staff onboarding and orientation
• Possibly serve as a clinical instructor, participate in departmental or therapy discipline committees, and complete credentialing or certification beneficial to patient care
• Address additional staffing needs across departments when the patient demand is greatest and the home department schedule permits
• Work weekday and weekend coverage as required
