Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
If your electrical skills are going to waste on equipment that runs itself, this is worth a read. Braintree Precision Components needs an engineer who thrives on fault-finding and keeps a bespoke manufacturing facility moving.
The role involves joining a maintenance team of three as the electrically biased engineer, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The focus is on keeping production running through a combination of planned preventative maintenance and rapid fault resolution.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on control panels, PLCs, and inverter drives
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production and site equipment
- Support mechanical maintenance activities including bearings, belts, gearboxes, and pneumatics
- Fault find on automation systems including Siemens and Fanuc PLCs
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
- Complete electrical installation, modification, and improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root cause analysis
- Essential
:
Proven experience as an electrically qualified maintenance engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment - HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent: NVQ Level 3 with distinction and substantial industrial experience considered)
- Solid working knowledge of 3-phase systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
- Working knowledge of health and safety standards including safe isolation and risk assessments
- PLC fault-finding experience (Siemens or Fanuc)
- Mechanical maintenance experience alongside electrical skills
- Experience with inverter drives and variable speed drives
- 18th Edition Wiring regs Qualification a distinct advantage
- £45,000–£51,000 inclusive of shift allowance, based on a 39-hour week at £19.19/hour base rate
- 25 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays

Rotating morning and late shifts, Monday to Friday. Introduced after an initial settling-in period. No on-call requirement. - Culture:
