Are you a precision-focused TIG Welder looking for a long-term career with a leading sheet metal specialist?
Our client in Braintree is expanding its manufacturing team. This position is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills with the view of securing a permanent role. We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/TIG Welder who takes pride in producing high-quality, clean welds and complex assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
Working within a high-spec manufacturing environment, your duties will include:
- Precision Welding: Executing high-quality TIG welding on various components, primarily focusing on thin-gauge sheet metal.
- Bespoke Fabrication: Assembling metal components by following technical drawings and strict project specifications.
- Tool Proficiency: Effectively using a range of hand and power tools to finish and refine fabricated parts.
- Quality Assurance: Conducting rigorous self-inspections on all welds to ensure they meet exacting industry standards.
- Workshop Safety: Maintaining an organised workspace and adhering to all health and safety regulations at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Working alongside the wider production team to optimise workflow and meet delivery deadlines.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
- TIG Expertise: Proven experience in TIG welding is essential. You must demonstrate a deep understanding of welding principles and heat control.
- Technical Literacy: The ability to accurately read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints.
- Fabrication Skill Set: Practical experience in sheet metal fabrication and mechanical assembly processes.
- Material Knowledge: Experience working with stainless steel and aluminium is highly advantageous.
- Numerical Skills: Basic mathematical proficiency for precise measurements and material calculations.
- Reliability: A disciplined approach to work within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
