We are looking for a self‑motivated and passionate Mental Health Nurse registered with the NMC to join our well‑established Early Intervention in Psychosis Service in Mid Essex on an initial 3‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is for a Senior Care Co‑ordinator who will support the Mid Essex First Episode Psychosis (FEP) team based at The Gables in Braintree, working across the Mid Essex locality and providing high‑quality, evidence‑based care in accordance with NICE guidelines and national wait‑time standards.
Keyresponsibilities
- Fully conversant with professional code of conduct and uphold standards of practice.
- Deliver care in accordance with Trust care programme guidelines.
- Participate in the initial assessment of clients to determine suitability for the FEP team and liaise with referring agencies to identify alternative services where appropriate.
- Undertake risk assessments with clients and coordinate risk management within the care plan in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure all interventions meet established time scales and evidence‑based practice standards.
- Work flexibly to meet the demands of the FEP service, adapting patterns as required by client needs and national guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision, professional leadership to junior staff and promote evidence‑based practice.
- Attend mandatory training, maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation and policy, and keep professional record updated.
- Support data collection, audit participation, and quality improvement initiatives for the FEP pathway.
- Years of experience in mental health nursing, particularly with first episode psychosis.
- Evidence of delivery of psychosocial interventions in clinical practice.
- Appropriate professional registration with the NMC.
- Understanding of first episode psychosis and wait‑time standards.
- Community skills and experience of family work.
- Experience in multi‑disciplinary team working and service development.
