Security Officer

Job Overview

To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets through security services that comply with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed key performance indicators and service level agreements, ensuring full responsibility and accountability to help retain the contract. Continuously undertake additional training for self‑development.

• Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law.
• Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
• Proactively review the Assignment Instructions, familiarise yourself with any changes and suggest amendments that improve service level.
• Maintain all required licences (front‑line, Door Supervision, CCTV PSS SIA, etc.) and renew them 16 weeks before expiry.
• Adhere to all legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
• Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
• Work systematically, methodically and in an orderly way.

• Complete all required competency training.
• Undertake additional training as directed by the Security Account Manager.
• Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
• Renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

• Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation appears threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct when faced with difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry promptly after any incident for use in the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to the client.
• Ensure check calls are carried out at allocated times as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
• Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

• Previous security experience.
• SIA licence.
• CCTV licence is desirable.
