Warehouse Operative

Origin Suregreen Limited are a retail and wholesale supplier of landscaping, fencing, forestry and gardening products. We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our team in Finchingfield, Essex. This role involves shift work and may require weekend work.

• Prepare goods to allow for efficient packing.
• Ensure all inbound stock is checked thoroughly. As a minimum, the quantity and quality of the goods should be checked and then matched to both the delivery note and purchase order.
• Ensure stock control system is updated to reflect stock in and the location it is being stored.
• Perform regular stock checks to ensure that the stock control system is accurate and raise any discrepancies to supervisor level.
• Ensure all stock movements are tracked through the stock scanning system. This includes goods in, orders out, scrap pages and movement of stock between locations.
• Unloading containers, couriers and other deliveries
• Pick goods ready for packing, always ensuring accuracy
• Pack goods and load for dispatch, always ensuring accuracy
• Ensure the entire site is always kept tidy, free from waste.
• Inform supervisors of items low on stock, including packaging material
• Ensure all equipment is well maintained and managed. Any issues should be reported up to supervisor level.
• Always operate company machinery safely
• Perform daily vehicle checks before operating any company vehicles.
• Seek approval from supervisor and head of department for any overtime requests.
• Obtain supervisor signature for any orders packed with a value of over £1,000.
• Ensure that orders returned to Suregreen are thoroughly reviewed, scanned back into stock and the Customer Services team are informed of movements.
• Replenish stock levels in picking areas as and when necessary.
• Assist in the workshop manufacturing goods, or replenishing stock required for the workshop.

• At least 1 years’ experience working in a similar role
• To have a sound and practical knowledge of warehouse operations.
• Industry experience is desirable.
• Thorough knowledge of the company and its products and processes.
• To have a sound understanding and appreciation of the importance of Health & Safety.
• Have a general knowledge of what is required from each position and procedural awareness
• Have in-depth knowledge of machinery in the area that you are running

• Counterbalance and forklift driving qualification desirable
• Previous yard / warehouse supervision experience
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Honesty
• Flexible in approach to tasks
• Self‑motivated and conscientious
