Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting
We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Senior Accountant position with a professional services company located in Braintree, MA. The Interim Senior Accountant will support general accounting operations during a Sage Intacct implementation and provide temporary coverage for the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have 5–6+ years of accounting experience, including strong general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliation experience, along with at least 2 years of hands-on Sage Intacct experience.
This is a 4-month contract position paying $55-$60/hour, depending on experience. The Interim Senior Accountant will work 40 hours per week and may work from Braintree, MA, or remotely.
Remote candidates must be located in the Eastern Time Zone (EST).
Responsibilities:- Support general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end close schedules and related accounting activities.
- Review subledger and general ledger activity and resolve variances.
- Provide hands-on Sage Intacct support during and following system implementation.
- Assist with system testing, transaction validation, and accounting-related troubleshooting.
- Maintain day-to-day accounting operations during temporary team coverage.
- Partner with finance and implementation resources to resolve process or system issues.
- Support process improvements and help maintain accurate financial data and controls.
- 5–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on Sage Intacct experience required.
- Strong general ledger, month-end close, and account reconciliation experience.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
- Ability to independently research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- ERP implementation or system transition experience preferred.
Professional services, IT services, or similar industry experience preferred. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
