Role

Arcadis is seeking a Project Controls Engineer to support our team in Boston. In this role, you will focus on schedule development and cost estimating, supporting bridge and/or transit infrastructure projects. Your role will ensure robust project planning, monitoring, and control to deliver on time and on budget.

Role Accountabilities
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera

    P6, Microsoft Project, and other
  • Create look-ahead schedules, baseline updates, and recovery plans
  • Perform critical path analysis, time‑impact analyses (TIA), and delay matrices
  • Lead progress reporting, schedule variance, and performance monitoring against baseline
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs, apply unit rates, and prepare cost estimates aligned with bridge/transit scope
  • Manage cost forecasts, budget vs actuals, cash flow and Earned Value Management (EVM) analyses
  • Assist in bid preparation, developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cost coding, and change order documentation
  • Align schedules and estimates across engineering, procurement, and construction teams; integrate multidisciplinary inputs
  • Facilitate communication and coordination—serving as a liaison among PMs, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Support risk analysis, scenario planning, and cash flow forecasting
  • Maintain change control logs, schedule/control registers, and be part of claims or dispute resolution if needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with scheduling and estimating software Primavera

    P6 and Microsoft Project strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated background in bridge or transit infrastructure, heavy civil, or similar complex projects

Benefits

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
