Tax Manager, Tax Advisor, Tax Accountant, Wealth Management
Ready to leave public accounting behind? Trade timesheets, billable-hour targets and busy-season overtime for a planning-focused seat on a wealth management team, where your work is measured by the advice you give, not the hours you log.
ABOUT USNapier Financial is a boutique, fully integrated wealth manager and multi-family office serving high-net-worth families. As a fiduciary, we always act in our clients’ best interests. We are bringing our tax planning, compliance and strategy work in house, and this hire will be the cornerstone of that effort. You will join the wealth management team from day one and work directly with our advisors and clients.
WHATYOU WILL DO
- Build multi-year tax projections for client families and calculate federal and state quarterly estimated payments.
- Model the tax impact of planning decisions:
Roth conversions, charitable giving (including DAFs and appreciated stock), equity compensation, capital gain and loss harvesting, and asset sales, to name a few. - Prepare and review individual (Form 1040) returns and simpler fiduciary (Form 1041), gift (Form 709) and small Schedule C or single-member LLC filings.
- Work through multistate filing obligations, residency changes and part-year returns.
- Analyze K-1s from private investments, partnerships and closely held entities, and track basis and passive activity carry forwards.
- Partner with advisors and outside estate attorneys on estate and gift planning: trust funding, gifting strategies, and the income tax side of estate plans.
- Coordinate with outside CPAs on entity-level returns for family businesses, so entity and individual planning line up.
- Respond to IRS and state notices, and help design the processes, calendar and software stack for Napier’s new tax function.
Required
- 5+ years of individual and trust tax experience, ideally in public accounting or a family office, with a high-net-worth client base.
- Strong command of multistate individual tax, fiduciary income tax and K-1 pass-through reporting.
- Hands-on experience with professional tax and research software such as CCH Axcess or Pro System fx and Bloomberg Tax (BNA).
- Experience explaining tax outcomes in plain language to clients and advisors.
- A current PTIN.
Preferred
- CPA or EA license.
- Master of Science in Taxation (MST), or willingness to pursue one.
- Experience with Forms 706 and 709, trust administration, or estate planning coordination.
- Familiarity with planning tools used in wealth management.
- Base salary: $120,000 to $150,000, based on experience and credentials.
- Bonus program available
- Health insurance provided
- 401(k) with employer match and profit sharing
- No timesheets, no billable-hour quotas, and a predictable schedule through tax season
You will shape a tax function from its start, own the tax planning relationship with a focused group of families, and see your recommendations put into action across their whole financial picture.
