Job Details / Responsibilities:
- Serve as Chief Nursing Officer for the Braintree inpatient rehabilitation hospital and oversee the Framingham inpatient satellite, including floating nursing staff and consistent operating policies and procedures
- Maintain a highly visible presence with patients and employees; senior-team rounding includes weekly touchpoints at Framingham and periodic visits to the pediatric outpatient center
- Lead 9 direct reports: 4 nurse managers, dialysis manager, respiratory supervisor, infection preventionist, wound care, and educator (scope also includes CNAs, nurses, and dietitians);
Framingham leadership includes 1 nurse manager, 2 educators, and 2 wound nurses - Oversee infection prevention, education, wound care, and respiratory
- Partner with 4 nurse managers who each have nurse supervisors (4 supervisors reporting to the nurse managers) and sustain a 1:8 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Drive collaborative leadership with physicians, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and quality
- Mentor nurse leaders and develop them through committees and quality work
- Support specialty Joint Commission work already underway in stroke and traumatic brain injury, and upcoming spinal cord and Parkinson's program accreditation (hospital TJC survey completed this year)
- Interview process: first Teams meeting with CEO, HRD, and current CNO; second Teams meeting with Regional CNO; third step is a half-day onsite with the senior team, nursing leaders, and physicians
Qualifications:
- BSN and a Master's degree required
- 5 years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting
- 2 years of nursing management experience
- Active RN license eligible for Massachusetts practice
- Rehab background is helpful, not required
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership with physicians, therapy, and quality
- Interest in mentoring and developing nurse leaders
