Senior Accountant

We're recruiting on behalf of a recognizable Canadian brand, offering a hybrid work arrangement. This is a newly created position supporting group accounting for an emerging line of business within the organization.

The company is looking for a strong, recently designated CPA who's energized by variety and enjoys getting involved in new initiatives. Success in this role calls for someone proactive who takes ownership of core accounting functions.

Key responsibilities and oversight:

• Build and document accounting processes, controls, and reconciliations from the ground up for a new business line
• Help design scalable controls and monitoring procedures as transaction volume grows
• Prepare and review reconciliations, flagging risks and recommending fixes
• Support financial analysis, audits, and other strategic projects as they arise
• Partner with cross-functional teams to keep financial processes and reporting aligned
• Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare complex entries with proper documentation for compliance

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• CPA designation with experience supporting complex accounting functions.
• Strong IFRS knowledge, ERP familiarity.
• Qualified accountant from a major public accounting firm
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Self-starter attitude with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment
• Adaptable and open to change
