Job Summary The Intern, Multimodal Operations is responsible forassisting the Multimodal Operations team by gaining an understanding of CN’s supply chain partners needs through market research, traffic flow and corridor analysis. The role represents an opportunity to learn about Terminal Operations, and to gain insights into CN’s Consumer Products Supply Chain as goods move across North America from production to final delivery. The incumbent supports a team whose goal is to grow CN’s market share, deepen its strategic position and foster supply chain partnerships.
Main Responsibilities
Attend meetings and partner with the Multimodal Operations team, and other members of the leadership team on various projects and initiativesRecommend ways to leverage the network and collaborate on growth strategiesWork closely with other members of the Multimodal Operations business unit to assess opportunities with a view toward continuous improvementInteract regularly with Network Operations to ensure projects are developed in a collaborative mannerEngage in time and motion activities and perform data analysisAssist with the creation of presentations on relevant projectsGenerate reports and collaborate in analysisRequirements
Initiative to learn about rail, multimodal, and business venturesAbility to understand market information and trends as well as apply predictive analytical techniques to opportunitiesKnowledge of Microsoft Office, including databases and TableauAbility to organize, prioritize, and handle workload efficientlyAbility to identify key issues that affect CN's supply chain fluidityApplies critical thinking, sound judgment, and accountabilityExcellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skillsFluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)*Education
Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis on Operations, Supply Chain, or an equivalent field* Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
