pay rate is based on position and time portion – salaries below reflect a 100% time portion - 7.5 hours per day. Rate of pay is made up of provincial wage funding and is inclusive of the cwelcc workforce funding.
- early childhood assistant – m – $42,900/year – $22.00/hour
- early learning facilitator – l – $46,800/year – $24.00/hour
- registered early childhood educator (rece) – l – $54,600/year – $28.00/hour

location: multiple locations across the gta (durham, york, scarborough, toronto, peel, halton, dufferin).
work hours- supply: must have at least three days of availability to work weekly (monday to friday) from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Ability to respond to last minute shift requests and flexible to embrace the unpredictability of on‑call work. Ability to travel to a variety of centres and work with all age groups is essential. Hours are not guaranteed and can be 0–37.5 hours weekly.
- part‑time hourly: must be available to work monday to friday, between approximately 2:30-6:00pm.
- split shift salaried: must be available to work monday to friday, between approximately 7:00-9:00am and 2:00-6:00pm. Guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week with a full‑time benefit package.
- 10 month (september to june) and 12 month positions available.

you will plan and deliver a consistent child‑centred program in accordance with our ymca playing to learn curriculum (0‑6 year olds) and the ymca place to connect curriculum (6‑12 year olds). We are committed to providing you with opportunities to develop your knowledge, skills and career while you enhance the experience of the children and families that we serve.
in this role, you will:- provide quality compassionate care and support to children and their families.
- build positive relationships with children and seek opportunities to deepen connections with parents and families keeping them up to date on their child’s progress.
- be a creative play partner who is actively engaged with the children and makes learning fun.
- independently ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times, while working alone and/or with other child care educators.
- understand and comply with provincial (cceya), municipal and ymca policies and procedures.
- observe and expand on children’s learning opportunities and complete required documentation of children’s development and interactions.
- listen to and respond to children’s needs which includes diapering and assisting children with toileting.
- work collaboratively with a team child care program to support an inclusive environment for children with developmental and behavioural special needs, while also ensuring the programme’s needs are being fulfilled.
- clean and sanitize child care spaces, toys and equipment; prepare and serve food following ymca health and safety protocols and procedures.
- understand the legal responsibilities and moral imperative to report suspected child abuse to child protection services.
- attend required curriculum training and professional development opportunities. Maintain qualifications and certifications as required by the ymca and provincial standards.
