Reporting to Yard Management, the Construction Yard Technician supports daily yard operations based in Brampton, ON.

This position works closely with project teams, logistics, and field operations to ensure materials and equipment are available, safe, and job-ready.

While primarily based at the yard, this role will also require travel to active project sites and local vendors as needed. This is a hands-on position well suited for someone who takes pride in organization, safety, and teamwork.

Hours are generally 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with flexibility required to meet operational needs.

What you will be working on

Yard & Equipment Operations

Receive, inspect, organize, and track construction materials and equipment

Prepare tools, equipment, and materials for job site deliveries and returns

Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other yard equipment (training provided if required)

Perform basic inspections, cleaning, and minor maintenance on tools and equipment

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment

Logistics & Coordination

Work closely with yard management, logistics, project teams, and field operations

Coordinate deliveries, returns, and movement of equipment and materials

Travel to project sites and vendors as required

Safety & Compliance

Follow all Bird Construction safety policies and procedures

Demonstrate a strong commitment to working safely and stopping unsafe work

What we are looking for

Previous construction, yard, or equipment-handling experience preferred

Experience with small engine repairs (internal combustion engines) is considered an asset

Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take initiative

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Physically capable of lifting and moving materials as required

Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude

Forklift or equipment certifications (or willingness to obtain) are considered an asset

Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license required
