Junior Inspector – Transportation sector, Contract Administration team.
Location
Brampton, London, Markham, or Barrie, Ontario.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor compliance with contractual requirements.
Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.
Prepare daily site observation reports and maintain a daily photograph log.
Assist Contract Administrator/Senior Inspector in preparing various internal and external reports and client status reports.
Assist with review of contractor submissions (critical path schedules, field changes, monthly payment certificates etc.) for compliance with contractual obligations.
Confirm the appropriate qualifications and certifications for all contractor employees, resources, and equipment.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
Experience working with MTO projects and municipalities for grading, paving, underground water main, sanitary and storm sewers, roads, and bridge construction is an asset.
Recent graduate from a Civil Technician or Technologist Program.
Registration or ability to register with OACETT as a C.E.T.,
C.Tech., or rcji.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of appropriate laws and regulations (environmental, health and safety, etc.).
Knowledge of design standards, Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications/Standard drawings (OPSS/OPSD’s), and methods and materials associated with municipal/highway construction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset.
Possesses a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel to construction sites.
Ability to work overtime on weekends and nights as required.
Detail‑oriented, self‑starter with enthusiasm, flexibility, and motivation.
Compensation
Salary range: $43,700 – $58,000, based on skill set, experience, certifications, and work location.
