Position Summary

The Construction Site Supervisor is responsible for providing on-site leadership and technical management of all field operations throughout the construction lifecycle. This role manages day‑to‑day site activities, including supervision of employees, subcontractors, and construction personnel, while ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

The Construction Site Supervisor is ‘hands on’ when necessary and serves as the primary point of contact for all on‑site operations, coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, city officials and regulatory authorities. This position is primarily based in the on‑site construction office and requires a hands‑on approach as needed to support site activities, maintain quality standards, and uphold the company’s professional standards and reputation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Project Execution: Interpret blueprints, maintain daily site logs, and coordinate the sequencing of different trades.
  • In collaboration with the construction group, coordinate construction schedule and make sure the tasks and project are completed on time.
  • Monitor job progress and provide regular progress reporting to management.
  • Consistent reporting and communication with building group management & senior management where appropriate.
  • Prepare bi‑weekly construction meetings with the entire group of trade supervisors in the construction trailer every 2 weeks.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA (or provincial/local equivalents), company policies and protocols, conduct safety meetings, and perform regular site walkthroughs, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Manage administration activities including timekeeping, collection of toolbox talk documentation and safety reporting and documentation.
  • Resource Management: Schedule and control material deliveries, allocate equipment, and track labor hours.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve on-site conflicts, design changes, and unexpected logistical roadblocks.
  • Leadership: Provide day‑to‑day supervision of the operations comprising up to 50 workers on‑site.
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Communication: Act as the main point of contact for the site.
  • Ensure consistent and clear communication with subcontractors to ensure effective material flow on site and activities are on track.
  • Manage on-site client communications and change request reporting.
  • Review and verify paperwork such as daily site logs, schedule updates, delivery receipts and packing slips, hours of service, etc.
  • Inspect the quality of work.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction, with 3 to 5 at the site supervisory level or similar role in the construction industry.
