The Division of Palliative Care in the Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking two full-time associates for both Brampton Civic & Etobicoke General Hospital. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees and HOCC stipends for participating in the hospital on-call coverage program.
Accountabilities:
- Work in a multidisciplinary team environment along with 12 other palliative care physicians to provide consultation for patients in multiple settings including the outpatient supportive and palliative care clinic, the inpatient Medical Oncology/Palliative Unit, hospice, home visits and virtual palliative care
- Share in the provision of on-call coverage for the inpatients under the team’s care
- Collaborate with regional partners and participate in a regional network of palliative care providers for education and collective growth
About the program
Osler has established a formal partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University’s Palliative Care CFPC Enhanced Skills Residency Program, a one‑year advanced training program for family physicians pursuing added competence in palliative medicine. As a clinical training site, Osler provides residents with hands‑on experience across diverse care settings, including acute care, home‑based palliative services and interprofessional consult teams. This collaboration reflects Osler’s dedication to advancing palliative care excellence, supporting academic growth and strengthening the workforce that serves our community.
Qualifications- Must have a Certificate of Registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario as well as a Palliative Medicine (Adult) Subspecialty Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or a Certificate of Added Competency in Palliative Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada
- Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population)
